Kaiser Permanente and California Family Fitness Team Up to Promote Health and Wellness Education ROCKLIN, CA – California Family Fitness (CFF) and Kaiser Permanente are partnering together to host a series of free workshops aimed to help inform and engage club members and the general public about a variety of health and safety issues. “We are very excited about our opportunity to partner with Kaiser Permanente in efforts to promote healthy living,” said Larry Gury, president and co-founder of California Family Fitness. “These workshops will allow a unique opportunity to discuss various health issues in an interactive format, which will provide our members and the public with informative health and wellness tips to better their personal lifestyles.” The second workshop of the series, "Body in Balance", will take place on April 17th from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Rocklin California Family Fitness facility located on Sunset Boulevard. Ernie Bodai, MD, Director of the Breast Cancer Research Stamp at Kaiser Permanente will serve as the keynote speaker and will discuss the risk factors, statistics, and current guidelines for the detection of breast cancer. Future topics for the workshops will include sports nutrition, keeping kids fit and healthy, diabetes prevention, and healthy living before, during and after pregnancy. “This partnership reflects Kaiser Permanente’s long-standing focus on prevention and wellness as the keys to total health,” said Robert Azevedo, MD, Kaiser Permanente’s Assistant Physician in Chief for Women's Health and Pediatrics in Sacramento and Roseville. “Our physicians and health educators are looking forward to sharing the most current information on a wide range of topics to help people live well, be well and thrive.” Those interested in attending the workshop on April 17th can pre-register by calling (916) 235-4630 or email hcser@calfamfit.com. Fitness Chain Announces New Club Location CITRUS HEIGHTS, CA – California Family Fitness (CFF) is proud to formally announce their plans for expansion with the introduction of the fitness chain’s 15th facility opening this Fall. CFF’s newest club, estimated to be 52,000 square feet, will be located in Sunray Plaza at Sunrise Boulevard and Antelope road in Citrus Heights. “We are thrilled to move forward with the development plans for the new club site,” said Larry Gury, President and co-founder of California Family Fitness. “The new Citrus Heights club will offer a variety of amenities such as basketball, racquetball, a private women’s workout area, and classes for spin and group exercise similar to our existing facilities.” California Family Fitness currently has thirteen different locations based in Northern California, with proposed plans to expand in El Dorado Hills, Auburn, Yuba City, Woodland, Vacaville, and West Sacramento. An additional CFF facility is currently under construction in Natomas which will open in April of 2008.
